PRECONFERENCE SCHEDULE

The pre-conference session for the Technology and Young Children Interest Forum of NAEYC will provide opportunities for members and new comers to technology to explore successful and appropriate applications of technology in the lives of young children.  Participants will interact in a half-day session including poster sessions, round tables, panel discussions, and one-on-one dialogues.

Poster presentations

The Poster Sessions will  focus on a variety of innovative, field-tested practices in TECHNOLOGY AND YOUNG CHILDREN.  The purpose of the Poster Sessions are to encourage informal communication between presenters and conferees.

Benefits of a Comprehensive Technology System Technology innovations—such as computers, touch tablets, adaptive keyboards, and a wide array of switches—can level the playing field for young children with disabilities and provide those children access to the regular early childhood curriculum.

Making cultural and linguistic connections for young children through the use of web cameras

Enabling children to share home cultures by eliminating the problems of time and place by using web camera technology, we are assisting two kindergarten and two elementary classrooms to exchange information and ideas about culture and language.

Round Table Sessions

The Round Table presentations, will focus on Research and Best Practices on Computers and Young Children. During this aspect of the pre-conference session, members will have opportunities to share their personal stories about a tech & young children research (qualitative or quantitative) project or application of best practices.
